Does anyone have a suggestion regarding the best storage system for a Hunter 31. Jack stands or cradle? If a cradle are there plans available to anyone's knowledge. Thanks.

Not sure.

At our marina we pay extra for summer storage of cradles, about $100. Not enough to make me want to sell the cradle and buy stands. Also in our location there is a service that will measure and build a custom cradle. Have no idea of the price. Having watched them work I would have no problem building one myself. They use cardboard to make a pattern. One at the back which should be just under the bridgedeck and one at the front, usually under the bulkhead at front of salon. Maybe your boat is marked for slings? That is where the cradles go. Then weld up some 4" channel iron and you're in business. They use two or three plys of 3/4" plywood glued and screwed to apply the pattern to. Same as used by Hunter to ship new boats. The critical dimension is height, the keel must support the weight. The cradle only provides balance. My cradle for an H37C has the bottom perimeter frame of 6" channel. Two 6" channels with heavy angle irons run fore to aft and have a piece of 2x8 for the keel to rest on.
