Stopper for 2003 Hunter 356 Refrigerator drain

Last week my wife dropped the stopper that plugs the refrigerator drain and we have not been able to find it. As soon as I order two or three, it will turn up. I thought it was 1 inch, but find 1-1/8" on Amazon that looks like it, but will it fit?

I was on the boat yesterday but forgot to measure the hole size. If anyone is on their 356 this weekend and would be so kind as to measure the stopper we would be grateful. The refrigerator is the original top fed model and not the new open door undercounter type currently being provided.

Thanks

HI Jerry,
If I'm up there this week I'll measure it - but you should be able to get one at Home Depot or any hardware store - it's a std sink stopper

Thanks Chuck and Nick. I think it is 1" based on drain out of bathroom sink in manual. Ace is a great solution.

I looked on Amazon and they have a lot of sizes but none like a regular stopper that is 1".

Two words:

Champagne cork

Trim as needed, enjoy the contents of the bottle as your reward.

Jerry,

Did she drop the stopper outside the refrigerator or did she push it down the drain hole? In the first case there is no problem, but if the second then the drain line will be plugged or drain poorly until you take off the entire line and find it.

Good luck

Ivan: she dropped it outside the refrigerator and we have looked everywhere and can't find it! It will show up someday, but we have no idea where it went.

A suggestion, Jerry,

We have a 2002 356 and it was getting to be a pain to have to lean way over and reach far down to seat or remove the stopper. So I just epoxied the stopper to a 10 inch long 1/2 inch diameter dowel. Now it's easy to both put the stopper into the drain and to push it down so it seats well; as well as to take it out. And it just sits on a shelf in winter or between sails and will never be accidentally dropper anywhere in the boat.

I strongly recommend it.

Happy sailing (soon).

This past weekend I took out the plumbers putty and used the top from a Jack Daniels single barrel whiskey bottle. Worked perfectly! The champagne cork idea was the inspiration! Oh....it was torture drinking the whiskey?
