This past weekend took our 26x out to Ship Island on MS Gulf coast. Beautiful weather and a great day anchored close to shore, walked around the island, got back on board moved out further from the island and anchored for the night in about 10 ft. Had a nice dinner, relaxed , listened to the radio with boat drink in hand, all in all a perfect day on the water. Did notice however that the boat seemed to rock excessively from even the slightest wake. About 2.00am we were wakened by the boat rocking and rolling like a Disney ride!!!It was miserable and we spent a very sleepless night.I had pulled the cb up earlier (duh)so I lowered it and that helped but the clunking was almost as bad as the rocking,at this point my wife was looking for something to make a boat for sale sign. Anyone out there got any suggestions.

You need rocker stopers

Either home made, or commercial. These are items you hang from the end of your boom, swung out on one side of the boat, that keep that side of the boat from coming back too quickly. By putting a set on the other side, you keep it from coming up quickly. This greatly reduces the rolling motion. You can make your own from wood, hdpe or other materials, or you can buy them. Check out my page on Bob White's web site, look them up in "Things that Work" book from Sail Magazine or send me an e-mail and I'll send you the plans for the ones I made.

rocker help

I read elsewhere that you run a line from the bow under the boat with the centerboard down to the other side stern putting pressure on the board stops the banging and helps the rolling. Also keep the rudders and motor down.
