I'm looking for the part on the Merriam steering pedestal that is located underneath the compass and has the shift lever and the throttle lever passing through it. I heard about one that was made out of fiberglass, but the phone number was non-working. Any help would be appreciated. You can email me at dale@kanorado.com. Thanks.

Good luck

Dale, I assume you are looking to replace the same part that broke on my 34, The housing that the gas and shift levers pass through. If you are you will need some luck. I also heard of a fiberglass one made by someone and I did reach him, but he had sold all of them and was not planing to make any more. I got lucky and found a part at a used parts dealer, Sailorman in Ft. Lauderdale, that fit my pedestal and I was able to make it work even though it was not the same manufacturer. My pedestal is made by Yacht Specialities, but the replacement part was made by Edison. The Edison part was from an old boat and all the holes lined up. The Edison part was made of much heavier parts and will never brake like the old one. My only suggestion is to call or search boat salvage yards. You may be able to make a new Edison part work with your old pedestal. I believe all the holes line up. Good luck
