When I launched the boat this year I noticed the outer opening of my stuffing box is more than a little out of round, it doesn't leak, I get very little dripping (just enough to keep it cool), I am sure my shaft is true and properly aligned, and I think this is probably a result of the prior owner, and a general lack of maintenance in the past. Non-the-less, I think this will be a winter project. Would anyone know just what size the original stuffing box in a 1976 H-30 is. The shaft is definately 1" and the packing is 3/16" which is what the original box calls for.
