I have a Hunter Vision 36 with the single lever control for the throttle and gear shift. When the knob is used to put her in "throttle only", the lever moves easily. When both are engaged, the lever is quite stiff.

I am looking for remedies.

Is replacing the cable to the transmission required?

Has anyone used the "cable buddy" to lubricate the cable?

I have heard the the product CorrosionX is supposed to be a miracle lube, anyone have luck with that?

Any other thoughts.

Same boat same issue.

I will be interested in what others have done.

We recently took the shifted out and cleaned and lured it. I am not sure that it is not an adjustment problem.

Steve,

Did you just remove the shift lever mechanism, or did you back out the whole cable????

Was it easy to get in and out??

Mark:

The shifter was a pitch to get out of the pedistal . Removed it because we thought it was the issue. The cables were attached to the shifter.

I was hoping that if I removed the throttle cable and the gear shift cable that the mount on the pedestal would back out smoothly, and then I could back out just the gear shift cable after removing it from the shift lever. Not sure if it is better to pull it down toward the engine or up to the pedestal.

And I guess I will have to make sure that I have the correct cable detached. If all goes right the job will take a couple hours...but then there is the risk of problems....uugghh.
