Some class of a Yacht Club there I believe.... :)

Really nice place - only there once - N side of Dublin Bay.

It's a suburb of Dublin but it still has a bit of character..

And the Guiness has only travelled 10M from the James' Gate Brewery on the
Dublin Quays.

Hope the trip and the Beta install go well ...

Thats O.K. Howth is not to far from me so please keep in touch.
In the meantime I have spent 30 hours removing 30 years of antifouling from
"Svegala" and am in the last hour of sanding and the whole underside is in really
good condition. Tomorrow goes on the gel sheild followed by a good treatment
on the topsides and into the water mid next week. Hippee.

Cheers

Hey Gang, this may seem a silly question, but does the boat have to be
raised in a lift to remove the rudder/stock etc? Or can it be done on
the hard? Thanks, Trev V2915 Mystic Rose

Hi Trev

Rudder shoe can be removed on the hard so long as the keel is sitting on
a raised level with clearance for the shoe to be removed. You will also
need about 4 feet clearance underneath to remove the rudder and stock.
You will see what I mean with the Vega out of the water!

Easiest way is to lift the Vega but all other work must be done first
otherwise a waste of paying for a crane. Remove rudder block, tiller
etc.

Bill, there's an interesting thought. Have you actually done this?
Thanks, Trev V2915

Dig a hole (about 2 feet deep) and the rudder will drop out. Not a
solution
on pavement, obviously. Bill Bach V1071
