For the past year I have been searching a smallwater leak around my dripless shaft seal. I finallyisolated it to water coming from underneath the fuel tankand not from the shaft seal. On a B361, Beneteau lays ashaft log in the hull and then does multiple pours of resinto seal the log to the hull. Of course the shaft runs throughthe log (tube). Salt water was infiltrating outside the tubewhere the tube enters the small skeg and migrating upward througha channel caused by the multiple resin pours. This apparently happenson some boats and not on others. The solution was to haul the boat, route out the area where the tube exits the skeg and put a goodbead of 4200 quick dry.
