Stern Tube diameter 1984 Catalina 30

I'm looking for the stern Tube Diameter of a 1984 Catalina 30. I'm hoping to install a PSS dripless shaft seal this spring. I have found one post that says theirs measured at 1 5/8 ", The available sizes are 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 inch.

Bill, Either call Catalina Yachts or measure it. Good for you, but where did you find a source? Many have reported they couldn't find the special stern tube material anywhere. That'd be a great post.

Thanks for the response. I Think I'll call, the boat is under a tarp on the frozen shores of Lake Champlain at this point.

My post may be confusing as I didn't find any material, what I found was a post from one sailor whos said his Stern tube diameter measured at 1 5/8 ", when he installed a PSS shaft seal.

I'm not near the boat right now, but I did purchase and install a dripless shaft log a couple of years ago. It was not a major project to purchase or install in my 1992 C-30.

So what size did you end up ordering 1.5 or 1.75" I'm having the same issue, mine is measuring 1.625"
