I have a 92 Hunter 30T. I have sailed a Hunter 336 that has the stern rail seats and loved then. Last weekend I saw a 1991 Hunter 28 that had the built in stern rail seats. I know these have been added. The current owner did not add them and did not know any thing about them. Has any one ever converted the stern rails to stern rail seats. I would like to do this but have not had any luck finding these or anyone to build them. Any help will be appreciated.

RB, I have a Tartan 33 that was t-boned during a recent regatta. I was a Port vs Starboard situation and I was on Starboard, so the other guys insurance is paying for the $15,000. repair. Much of the damage envolved the push pit as it was torn off the stern of the boat. The new push pit will be built to include stern rail seats. A fabracator will actually build the new push pit out of stainless and incorporate the seats in each corner. This is not a inexpensive option to have a new push pit built, but it has to be done. To add seats is not going to increase the fabracation cost at all. You should check with marine metal fabracators in your market and they can inform you of the options you have. Good Luck

Sold on this Site

There are some that are sold on this site as an aftermarket add-on. Check them out. They might economically be what you want. Pictures are included.

I bought a pair from this website five years ago and they still look fine. They are the best seats on the boat. I believe the price is about $200. There is no extra work just clamp them to the rail and the post sits on the cockpit seat. Good luck

but you need a double stern rail for these.

The seats that they sell on the site need a double rail on the stern. I would also be interested in hearing what it cost to have this done as either a modification or a new custom rail.
