Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, Hunter has the market cornered on stern rail seats for 23.5, 240, 26 and 260 boats. There are not any after market manufacturers of the entire assembly (that I could find). The chandlery only has the seat portion for boats that already have stern rails. I might be wrong but, I'd be willing to bet Hunter outsources that fabrication but the general public of Hunter owners does not know who and even if they did, the fabrication shop probably has a non-compete clause in the contract wiht Hunter (which is a wise move on Hunter's part). Keep in mind that my comments are with all do respect to Hunter but, boy someone could make a killing if they could manufactur after market stern rail seats for the water ballast boats. IMHO

$650 plus shipping. Check the archives I put a fairly detailed description of what it took. This is the time of year to do it. It got pretty hot back there getting all of those bolts tight.

The stern rail seats for a Hunter 23.5 are made by Hunter. You can get them thru the Chandlrey or Hunter. Go thru the Chandlrey for them. They will need to know the year and more specific the hull number. If you try to get them made elsewhere, you may get a peice of crap plus ou will pay out the gazoo for them. Make sure when you install them, to liberally calk the holes or you will get leaks. You now have the poop from the expert as I am the most knowledglegev oh heck I cannot spell.

My boat required three seats
instead of the usual two since one came loose in transit from the factory and arrived one short. Dealer replaced it of course, but to make sure that doesn't happen to you while trailering, put a bead of silicone all along the underside where the horizontal rail contacts the seat, as I did.

Chandlery has them???
I just went to the Chandlery and they say that your boat must already have stern rails for these particular seats to work. Dave, are you saying that they can make the rail portions? I'm really confused. (my wife says that that goes without syaing!)

Later boats came out with them. They can make ones to add to an existing 23.5 without them but you do need to let whoever is ordering them the year and hull number to pass on. Suggest contacting Phil Herring in the Chandlrey so he can get Hunter to make a set for you.
