Stern Pulpit

I have several missing screws were the stern pulpit attaches to the transom. There doesn't seem to be anyway to access the area where the nuts would attach to the screws without cutting an access hole in the cockpit side of the transom. Has anyone run across this problem?

Ok, that sounded a little naughty...Are you sure there are nuts? I would have assumed so but since you said "screws" that might mean it was only attached with screws and not nuts/bolts. LaDonna

nuts and bolts

yes they are bolts, yes they can be accessed- with difficulty. When I put mid-ship cleats on the runner, i had to take off the stop. to get to those bolts i had to remove the teak trim, on the port side there was enough of a space between the inside glass and the deck to just reach in an hold back while crew loosened above, HOWEVER, on the starboard side, no such luck. I had to hand saw away a small section for access. small enough for access and small enough to hide behind the trim
