Has anyone ever added stern pulpit seats to a Hunter 23 or 23.5? I would like to add them but I can't seem to find the railings and seats anywhere and custom fabricating will probably be cost prohibitive.

IIRC, You can order them from Hunter

I was considering it a few years back. They were about $800 for the 23.5. I don't know if they were ever an option on the H23. I added them to my Precision 21. They were 'in the way' of the motor. I still haven't made up my mind about adding them to the h23.5 Mike

Stern Rails for Hunter 23

Motaman9, I installed stern rails about 12 years ago on my 85' Hunter 23. This boat was not designed for stern rails however I found that the stock rails for the Catalina Capri 22 fit very well. They were relatively cheap; about $60.00 for the pair in 1996. I'm sure they're more now but still around $100.00. I needed to fashion a base plate out of hard wood that I coated with epoxy. The deck fiberglass also had to be reinforced to accept the rails. This solution consists of pair of rails on each side of the transom. I have a safety line between the 2 rails. This makes it easy to get onto the boarding ladder. Good luck on the project, /Chuck S/V Windsongs '85 Hunter 23

Mine has a railing

I didn't put it there, but it surely is not a particularly strong installation: i believe there are a few wood screws at the base of each leg that go through a little wooden pad and into the boat. on the plus side, I dont need a mast cruth to trailer. I clip the gooseneck over the bow railing and the mast rests on the stern rail (the middle of it has a slight vee shape..from dropping the mast onto it..shhh)
