Stern Ladder Question

I posted this in another ladder thread, but then realized it was in the Catalina 22 Forum, so I am re-posting here. I have a question regarding my stern ladder.

Stargazer is a 1983 H31 with a fold down stern ladder.:

My question is regarding the plastic rung covers bolted to each rung:

One of mine has split and disappeared overboard. SBO does not show a replacement part, and I have searched online to no avail. Does anyone know where to source a replacement?

Teak would look nice. Plastic from a cutting board would do also.

I think I'd do the suggested plastic. you could replace all the treds if you want them to match. Many plastics can be worked with general woodworking tools. I've had success on many projects (not specifically this one however.)

Also you may want to attach a piece of web strap or line to the ladder so it can be pulled down from in the water. Otherwise deploying that style ladder from in the water is problematic and could cost you your life if you are singlehanding. .
