I have refastened all the fittings in my 1983 Mac 25, but havent done the stern as it is sealed off from access. Does anyone know if this was considered in the construction? i would like to redo my tiller fittings and swim ladder, but dont know how i will hold the inside nuts!

Mike here's an idea

Mike, I suggest you consider cutting access holes where possible. You can then finish the holes with access ports to keep the water out. Sorry I'm not familiar with your exact boat. Steve P.

other access

Mike, you can also do it without cutting any holes. There should be room in the starboard storage hatch to crawl back to the stern of the boat, but it is a tight fit. I took all of the flotation foam out from under the starboard seat and crawled in (I am 6ft 225lb) to tighten the nuts on the swim ladder I installed. Good luck. Chris 83' M25 Chara
