Sterio Speakers

My wife has requested that I add speakers to the cockpit area of my 1980 Catalina 30. Like many of you, I prefer the sound of the water against the hull...but I lost the argument. Any suggestions on placement location?

SPEAKERS IN THE WIND

been there dont that....i ended up instaaling the speakers into the side of the cockpit about 2 1/4 feet from the rear. simply cut a hole and installed waterproof system. was able to wire right thru the lazeretes minimum drilling.

Sterios are good

Spring for some good speakers, not the $49 kragen/west marine cheapies. Get the poly-p's or bose. If you're going to cut holes in you're boat, put something worth a it in them. Use good wire, too. Heat shrink and silicone all connections, so that after a year you're not having to hang upside-down in a freakin' lazarette. You won't be sorry. And your wife will be so happy. Put on some Andrea Bocelli, head up to weather and sheet in the jib.
