I am thinking about installing some sort of stereo system on my 26X and am looking for advice for brand selection, stereo and speaker location and where to run the wiring. In a perfect world it seems that it would be nice to have speakers both outside and in. Crabby

Stereo Advice

My Advice, having recently bought a 26X and having a dealer installed am/fm/cd. 1. Yes, your idea of having speakers inside or out is correct. I only have speakers inside and although you can hear them from the pilot it is muffled. 2. There is no difference between most 'Marine' AM/FM/CD decks...except for the color. GEt one with a remote...my biggest mistake.

Why not MP3 ?

I'm using a jogger-style CD player with AM/FM and computer speakers. Plan to add an MP3 jukebox on which I can load all 100 CDs from my home library. IMO - Conventional auto stereo is overkill and obsolete in today's music world.

MP3 Jukebox??

I'm also ready to add sound system to the boat. Last year I used portable CD or tiny AM/FM, with headphones. How do you power the computer speakers (ie mine are AC connected with a woofer?) I've been considering MP3 as well, and just found several portable CD players with the MP3 capability as well, THEN found a auto deck with the same AND a separate input jack for other imputs, (ie video eventually ) Think I'll go this way, tried with my laptop playing a DVD, hooked in the store to this auto deck, worked GREAT with good auto type speakers. Still haven't committed however. WAHT IS A MP3 jukebox?? Thanks, Ken
