Just snare the someone walking by to take the forestay and pin it loosely as you do the Iwa Jima stance. Keep the side shrouds loose to make it easier. Do not raise the mast yourself, just not feasible.

that's my backup plan, I've already got 1 confirmed person to help (girlfriend), and 1 probable. I would like to have 2 people besides myself strong enough to complete a chin-up though...
Followup.... I didn't like the forecast for Saturday, so instead I ended up stepping the mast Friday night with the help of the guy who was next to me on land with a new to him Pearson 27. won't ever try that again! no damage, no injuries, but my mast is too heavy for 2 people to comfortably lift the mast with a 3rd person cranking on the jib halyard... really should have had a 3rd person lifting the mast to the 45deg point where the halyard took the weight.
