Does anyone have any information on procedure and or any specs on stepping the mast on a 1978 27? Or where I can get it?

Procedure Outline

I never found one before unstepping the mast on our '77 h27. What I did do is find others who were doing the job on similar boats, and offer to help them. The experience made all the difference we we did mine the first time. The best idea would be to help someone do theirs in return for guidance and help on yours! Here is an outline: Requirements: 3 adult size people. One for the hoist, 1 for the foot, and one for the rigging. The mast is heavy, but not overwhelming. 1 Mast hoist with a swing arm and taller than the top of the mast. Procedure: Assemble windex, and other items removed for storage. Check the mast to ensure the spreaders, stays, topping lift, halyards and any other rigging are all properly rigged. Bundle rigging in one bundle tied a couple of times at the bottom. Check lights and electrical connections. What goes into which? Put the sling around the mast under the spreaders. (We used doubled half inch mooring line) Hoist operator lifts the mast slowly, while others tend the foot, and the rigging. Orient the mast over the step, roughly up and down with the foot well clear of the deck. Connect the wiring. I remember lighting arrestor, lights, and radio antenna. Slowly lower the mast onto the foot (aluminun fitting that goes inside the mast.) Stop to pack the wires as needed. Once the foot is firmly on the step, undo the rigging bundle. Connect the fore aft and side stays from the masthead. Tighten sufficiently to hold the mast. Connect the four lower stays. Ease the hoist, and check that the mast is secure. Remove the hoist. Tune the mast (this is another procedure to get the mast properly positioned and tensioned if your have never done it, then I definitely suggest you get help for this step. You need a tension measurement to do it right.) Depending on demand for the hoist, you may need to move the boat to a slip before tuning it. I probably missed something, but others will fill in where I screwed up.
