Stepping 35.5 Mast

Hunter 35.5 New Bern
Hi All... I have a 1994 35.5 that the stick has never been removed. Getting ready to haul out and want to pull the mast this time. Couple of questions for those 35.5 owners that have pulled the mast.
1. Are the factory run cables connectorized at the base (mast step). I want to be prepared in case original wire has to be cut and connectors added.
2. Anyone replaced the standing rigging where you may be able to recommend a rigging shop to purchase from?
3. Anyone replaced the sheaves and know where sheaves can be purchased for the ISOMAT mast?
4. From what I can tell in 1994 I do not think Hunter used tinned marine grade wire, has anyone had to re-wire their mast yet?

Thanks in advance!

On my 1994 33.5, the wires for the mast were accessible through a plate that is in the head area. Maybe the same for yours

Useful info: Sheaves are available from rigrite.com. I just replaced the ones in my 37.5's Isomat boom.

Possibly useless info: On my old 1990 30, the wires were screwed into a terminal block that sat on the mast base.

I'm curious about how much this will cost you. I can see doing this myself soonish.

If your '94 35.5 is similar to my previous '88 35 then the mast cable connections are accessible from inside the cabin via a cover plate near the top of the compression post. Easy to access.

You may also want to consider redoing the furler, if it's the old Hood one with continuous furler run under the deck. Mine failed and replaced it with Furlex, above deck and new, stanchion mounted fairleads. Not cheap to do but worth it (will need to change length of forestay (which you will be replacing anyway) and also have headsail recut b/c luff length changes.

The 35.5 has an access plate at the compression post, with the plate removed one can see the wires routed into a conduit that passes through the deck and deck plate. What is on the top side of the deck plate and in the mast is the unknown whether Hunter ran these as continuous length or connectorized to facilitate mast removal.
