There's great difficulty removing the steering quadrant from the post on my 381. Any suggestions?

Same issue with my 411. I used a 6' 2x4 and a block of wood as as a fulcrum to tap the quadrant from the underside, alternating sides of the rudder post. It was a very slow process. Penetrating oil was of some help. Since the rudder post is square, I have no idea why the tolerance is so tight. Sanded heavily before reassembly.

Did the top of your post have a square hole? The company making the new rudder is concerned about duplicating this.
