Edson has a lot of information on their web site. Don't know abt. access on the 272LE, but on my 27 you wiggle down into the stbd. cockpit locker, remove the inboard side panel of the locker to access the steering and adjust away. My boat has an Edson Radial drive system & the cables wrap around the drive wheel (a grooved 13" dia. split wheel that is clamped & keyed to the rudder post ) and terminate in eye bolts. Access is limited & you'll need the correct wrench size- no room for adjustable wrenches or vise grips here- a box end ratcheting wrench or possibly a very deep socket wrench will work. Be patient, resort to profanity if it makes you feel better, but get the slack out or a cable may jump off the drive wheel and jamb the steering. Murphy's Law says that will happen at the worst possible time !!!
