I removed my existing pedestal in my Beneteau Oceanis 370 and install a completely new pedestal and pedestal guard. I move my pulley sheaves under the pedestal forward a couple of inches; this intern left a gap of 4" between each cable ends and end of each chain. The eye bolts on the quadrant do not have any room to reduce this gape. What is the best way to solve this problem? 1) Remove old cables and have custom cables made, use a shroud adjuster, or ? I cannot find a turnbuckle that is adjustable from 3.5" to 5"

Well, depends on your comfort

level with creative fixes. If it was me, and if the repair/rework didn't pass thru any sheaves or roll over any sprockets, I would form a loop in the cable with a couple of bulldog clamps, put a small shackle on the end of the chain, and join them together with several turns of parachute cord. Back off the turnbuckles first, then tighten them up a bit for some tension, and viola! Of course, that's me. Maybe you could use several turns of monel wire instead of parachute cord, or...
