For all those interested! Here is the information on the Edson steering system on the O'Day 37 CC. The steering is made by Edson (probably model 334 replaced with new 336 model) and uses a 3/16" SS cable, hooked to a chain Model #630 in the pedestal via a swaged timble protected eye in the SS cable. The cable runs through the base of the pedestal to a #854-250 white Celcon conduit Fitting connected to a #853-250 conduit, these are held together with SS collars. The conduit leads aft through the locker and under the aft cabin berth and end with another conduit fitting #853-250. The fitting is bolted onto a right-angle bracket #799-2 and the SS cable goes to the wheel attached to the rudder stock. The cable is locked into place with 3/16" wire rope clamps. Always lubricate with Teflon based products once a month. Hope this helps someone!
