The steering pedistal on my 1978 30' was made by either Yachting Specalties or Yachting Specalists, I have not been able to verify the correct name of the comapny. I need to replace the part that attaches to the pedistal and holds the compas but so far have not been able to find a replacement. Has anyone come across a supplier for parts from this company? Yacht Specialties Pedistal parts

I believe that Edson parts will in many cases fit. Try giving them a call. They are usually helpful. Henry

Probably Not Compatible

My brother has an '80 Cherubini H-36 with Yachting Specialities pedestal. The transmission lever mounting bracket in the top of the pedestal has broken. We spent this past Sunday hitting the consignment shops in Wickford and Newport RI. Lots of Edson parts. They're different sizes though. Somebody with a little talent could probably adapt the parts but don't expect a perfect fit. Check out the Marine Consignment shops in your area.

what about PVC

Have you thought about PVC Pipe parts, I fabricated a extention for my compass out of PVC I think it was 5in. I know that Y.S. is out of business. But with a little thought... Pipe cap upside down drilled filed cut etc. may be able to be fabricated so as to not look too bad. I made extension parts to run the cables for radar, GPS. and aux power plugs. Used cleaner to remove the ink off of the pipe polished and I have yet to have anybody reconize it to be sewer pipe. Good Luck,,
