Steaming light out

1983 catalina 30 tall rig-I have no juice at the steaming light. I have been up there twice with a voltmeter and bulbs. I have juice at the panel switch. Changed fuse, still nothing. Anchor light works!? I may have to give up until next winter when the mast is unstepped. Last winter I changed the connection "trailer plug" on the deck and everything tested fine. Maybe the wire was damaged when the mast was stepped? I don't see how the wire goes between the panel switch to the compression post. I thought it would exit the compression post in the bilge, but there is no sign of it.

Problem probably at deck plug

Check for voltage at the deck plug.There should be a minimum of three wires. One positive for the steaming light, one positive for the anchor light, and then a common gorund for both.Check continuity going up to the steaming light at the deck plug connection.
