Hi Guys,
Check out under my User Name to the left. It no loner says "no boat yet".
Should be picking up the new ride (Precison 18) next week, time permiting. Its not a new one, only new to me. Very happy the good sailing weather will not pass me by. Lots to learn and looking forward to it. Thanks for all the help especially sailtrinka and the rest who gave much advise on trailering and good trailerable boats to look for. I will try to post some pics when I get it to the house. I wont sleep till I get out on the water for the first time.

God Bless, Jimmyb

thanks guys,
its always nice to have enthusiastic people behind you. especially when you lay down a decent amount of dough. at least for me, i tend to get buyers remorse and then forget all about it after the fun starts. I will post pics as soon as i get it home. Its a 1986 with all the standard equipment.

God Bless,

Jimmy,
You made an excellent choice! Sorry guys. I've already seen the picture of it, but I'm going to let Jimmy post it here for everyone to see. The best of luck to you Jimmy!

Excellent choice, I like the Taylor design. We have a trailerable Windstar 223 of the same design which has taken us to may sailing venues around the country.

Jimmy!

Take the plunge! That is so great that you found a good boat. I looked the P18 up and it is nice little boat with a solid record. I found this page too. It's a Precision 18 guide that's ready for download. The author seems to have done a good job adding a lot of helpful tips from trailering to stepping the mast to reefing. It also is specific to your boat. Nice! I can find precious little about my Lancer.

Another book that might interest you is "The Complete Trailer Sailor" by Brian Gilbert. It was recommended to me by James L Nelson, bestselling author, "traditional sailor". At the risk of putting in a plug, he spins a good yarn, is quite a character himself and, oh yeah, my first drunk was in his mom's livingroom in 197 . . . (I forget)! Jim sailed on Lady Washington, AKA "HMS Interceptor" of Pirates of the Carribean fame. Anyway, buy one of his many books, availalble at fine bookstores everywhere! Ask for it by name!

Fair Winds!
