Starting and charging problems with Merc 15

Had an annoying problem with starting my Merc 15 which is rather annoying anyone had similar problems?  Followed the same technique for years and the engine has always started 2/3 pull when cold. last couple of times it has taken me several hours with drying of plugs, cold start spray etc etc, once started it runs perfectly and will restart easly first pull. Since then when running it is only providing 5-9 volts output from the charging systems might be a coincident or has anyone else had similar problems?

How old are your spark plugs?

Yep pretty sure they are still 60 thou (which seems enormous) have bought another set anyway and will try them.Peteps send me another teenager this ones worn out!
