Hope all had a good summer.
I had to replace the original stater motor on my Universal M 18 and did so with a Kubota. I also replaced the push botton arter switch. It operated beautifully for a few days and then nothing happened when I tried to started it. I disconnected the leads to the switch and by passed the switch. There was power to the motor. I tested the solenoid wire and there was power there as well but the starter would not turn over after reassembly. I pulled the starter and brought it back to where it was purchased and they bench tested it. It operated properly. It must be something in the wiring on the boat.
I did test all wires with a continuity tester and they were live.
Any suggestions?
