Gate Stanchion
I learned a bit about gate stanchions the hard way:
Catalina used a single stanchion supplier when the boats were made in California (up to about 2001-2). When they moved production to Florida they switched suppliers (and thus designs), but they didn't like the first supplier so they switched suppliers and designs again soon after (and used for the rest of the 310 run). My boat is #199, built in 2002, and it was one that had the "limited edition" stanchions from the first Florida supplier. Catalina Direct can get both the first and third designs pretty much standard. In my case I had to send them the bent one and they were able to fabricate a new one from the model. While they were at it, I had them beef it up with thicker steel to prevent bending in the future; did both port and starboard at the same time. I don't remember the cost, but it wasn't cheap.
