Starboard Bow light Replacement

OK, how do I replace the light bulb in the Starboard side bow (green) light?There are two flat screws on the outside which loosens but does not appear to be enough to enable the socket to come out in order to reach the burnt bulb.....do I have to go from 'inside'?Simple question, I know....
