I think I remember reading about a less expensive brand of star- board the stuff sold at west mart. Any body know of this? I'm building an enclosure 12x15X4" deep any knowledge on bonding or gluing this material together?

no gluing

I think you will find that gluing is not an option. I bought some from a machine shop that sold cut lots at a much better price than WM or the manufacture. But, I don't have the link just now.

Yep, no glue

The manufacturer says to hold it together mechanically and then make some kind of specially shaped plug out of the same stuff, if you want to recess and hide the fasteners. If glues won't stick to it, why not use 5200 anyway. It'll stick to the screws. That was my reasoning last year so I did it. Works fine, no leaks but the color doesn't match.

i used e6000

E 6000 was reccomended to me by my plastic distrubitor. i used it in addition to the mechanical fastners to keep it from leaking. I made an extension for a plexiglass hatch slide and it worked great! it is made by eclectic products inc.

3M makes a glue

3M is suppose to make a glue that will work on poly board. I would suggest that you use some type of s.s. screws too, regardless of the glue.

Plastics distribiutor

Check Plastics distribiutors in the yellow pages, I found a 8X4 sheet of King starboard at 1/2 price of what WM sells them. Split the costs with a fellow boater or like me, make tables, drink holders, doors, etc. King starboard needs a special 2 part glue if you want to glue it. I use screws and sealand to prevent leaks.
