I have a 1985 Hunter40.there is a shelf in the bilge about 8-10" above the area where my float switch is located. At the back end of the shelf is a fiberglass vertical bulkhead (?) with a 1 1/2" diameter opening.Water ever so gently rolls out of that hole onto the shelf. I can put my finger in and it feels like about an inch of water. Not Bay water either.I can't seem to find any leaking anywhere that would account for this standing water. Anybody have any ideas????? I am stumped as to why it is there and where it may have come from. Thanks,Alan

MAYBEEE IT'S...

DEAR SIR, I HAVE A 1992 37.5 LEGEND WITH SIMILIAR ISSUE. MATTER OF FACT I JUST CAME TO THE SITE TO ASK OTHER OWNERS IF IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WATER CAN COME FROM THE SHOWER BASIN AND END UP EVENTUALY IN THE BILGE VIA THE SHELF I BELEIVE YOU ARE SPEAKING OF. IT ONLY APPEARS AFTER SAILING AT A 10-15 DEG HEAL ANGLE. I'M PUTTING THE QUESTION IN RIGHT NOW. MIGHT CHECK BACK IN A FEW DAYS FOR ANSWERS. REGARDS, OCEANOKIE

Be aware that you have a cavity

between the hull and the interior liner which forms the walls of your bilge that is capable of holding water which could come from any number of sources.
