Earlier this year, I posted a question about when to replace the standing rigging. I got a lot of good advice and suggestions from you all. I said I'd follow up with a post when I got the quotes from a local rigger.Well, the numbers are in...Riggers in the SF Bay Area are either really busy or really lousy, depending on your point of view. It took about 3 months to finally get someone out to the boat to look it over and do the measurements.Despite my earlier post where I indicated that the rigging looked OK to me (it's 22 years old), the professional opinion is that it all needs to come out. The quote is as follows:$3080 for the parts$2100 for the laborThat includes unstepping the mast, replacing all the rigging, tuning the mast, and re-stepping it. Of course there's always more things found once the rig is down, so I'm expecting about $6000 by the time all is said and done.A pretty big nut in a year where I've also replaced the main and jib and had the bottom done! Nothing worse than putting $10,000 into a $25,000 boat...- RichardS/V Discovery
