Quest

I have a 1992 Hunter 28. I am looking for information on how to tune the standing rigging. Currently there is a minor rake in the mast, however, the forestay and the backstay seem a little loose. I also noticed that the leeward shrouds get fairly loose when sailing close to the wind. Can anyone point me to the rig tuning procedure? Thanks.

Be careful with the 'rake' word

A great many peolpe use the word 'rake' when they really mean mast bend. One has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the other. Rake is the distance back from the vertical that the masthead is from the gooseneck on an unbent mast. Bending the mast will move the masthead back but will have no affect on rake. The ONLY thing that determines rake is the length of the headstay.
