I meant to put this in my last post, but forgot. Back in September I posted that I had found a place that would duplicate the aluminum brackets that fasten the lifeline stanchions to the toe rail of my Hunter 31, since OE replacements are not available. I am pleased to report that they custom-cast four of them for me, and they did a very good job. I needed to replace one on the boat, and now I have three spares, and you can hardly tell the difference between the replacement and the originals. If you need any cast aluminum parts, try South Shore Yachts at www.ccyachts.com. Hope this is useful. Tom Madura "Good Vices"

Pretty expensive

Steve, The total was almost $400 for four brackets, including anodizing and shipping charges. But it would have been between $150 and $200 for one; all the cost is in the set-up and making the mold. That's why I ordered four when I only needed one. But for custom casting I didn't think the price was unreasonable. Tom
