The deck around my stanchions has starburst and other cracks, which I want to repair. Naturally, the first step would be to "cure the problem" by securing the stanchion bases with backing plates below the deck (via "ceiling" of my cabin). Challenge: my cabin "ceiling" has a non-uniform plastic (molded) covering that, while it looks nice enough, seems to be a nightmare to take down and put up after the repair (don't even know where to begin) . . .
Does anyone have ANY experience in removing and replacing the "cabin ceiling" "moldings" on a Beneteau 361 or similar boat to enable the installation of stanchion backing plates (or any other reason)?
Or does this become a job I have to outsource for $$$ and more importantly time on the Hard when I want to be sailing?
I am grateful for ANY advice.
