Stanchion base plate replacement on H50

Hello.

I have a starboard stanchion on a 2007 Hunter 50 which has the male pipe (the one inserting into the stanchtion) crooked so I can consider either replace or repair and I wonder if anyone can share experiences / advises on:

1/ How do you go about getting to the base plate to replace it? I can purchase the replacement parts, but cannot seem to find a way to get to the interior to remove the damaged baseplate. Does cutting the headliner in the approximate position (aft starboard cabin) of the stanchion is the only way to access the bolts?

2/ since it's not welded and since they look to be two separated parts, is possible to remove the crooked part (in the picture the "almost" vertical pipe inserting into the stanchion) from the stanchion base? Is it screwed ?

Thanks for any help and consideration, very much appreciated.

Gianni

Might be worth the investment in the one to one support offered on this site (I can't find the link right now. Suggest you e-mail them.

Hi Dave.

I see you've them on stock and ready to purchase with few other items I need. However my problem is to understand how to replace the stanchion base since I can find how to access from the interion to the bolts.

I''m fine with buying one-2-one support, just the service seems to be unavailable in these days.
