Hey guys;

Where would I find some type of rubber tread with an adhesive back to put on the ladder steps? I've looked on the internet and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks
Chris

Have you tried the WM catalog?

or your local hardware store? We have NO idea what you have in mind that you couldn't find on the internet.

Yer killing me Stu...

My vision is black rubber treads...approximately 7-8" long by about 3" wide. I can either use rubber cement to glue them to the treads of the stairs going below or they would have a self adhesive backing on them.

I have googled this, searched it and I can't seem to find something along this line. Home Depot and Loew's doesn't stock it.

THAT is what I'm looking for!

WM, Jamestown, etc. all seem to offer non-skid tape. My experience as a truck driver is that this tape may be too abrasive.

Thanks
Chris

Do U have grooves in your stair treads? If so, we have a neat idea to fill them in with non skid material. Looks great on our treads.

If not, how about getting the right material and cutting it?

you might look for one of the guys who makes rubber non-skid decking material and buy a short piece. i had some from another project (no black available, mostly light colors), cut it to fit and it works just fine.

Thanks for the tips. My treads are not grooved and when I refinished them I did not pull the stairs apart.

Some of the links are for material with a 'diamond plate' pattern on them. I think this is a bit too aggressive for stair treads and bare feet. If anyone has experience with this, let me know.

From the searches I've done, I figure I will have to cut any material to fit.

Thanks guys.

You do man Scott!

Step Mate. This is exactly what I'm looking for. I can trim it and stick it right on the steps.

Thanks for the help Scott!
