If anyone is interested in replacing the fiberglass bow plate on this model, as it is prone to cracking and generally gives the boat a bad appearence, I had one made at a local steel fabricator for $200. The work was a bit rough but with about an hour of emery cloth work the bow shines like a mirror. It gives an other wise great boat a very custom look. The company is SIMMs steel in Lindenhurst NY.

Metal or Fiberglass?

I have a fiberglass cap that runs below the headstay chainplate and toe rail. It has a steel cap on top that serves as the headstay attachment. Did your company make an "all-in-one" piece, or did you simply replace the headstay "chainplate?"
