Has anyone installed a stackpack on their main sail? If so, please share the results and comment if you would again. Thanks for the info.

Stack pack

I've got a 2001 H340 that has the standard rig and came with Hunter'sversion of the stack pack. It was somewhat difficult to work with at first because of unfamilararity and the stiffness of the new sails. Now after two months of learning and softening, we're happy with it. It makes lowering the sail a snap. Just drop it. What we do is just release the halyard while still out on the water, gather in whatever happens to be in the way of visibility, and then stow the sail once we get into the slip. it can be asily done by one person (does require a short "balancing act" on top of the arch to get started) but it stows away neatly and quickly. As a comparison, we owned a H28 that we stowed the mainsail with conventional sail ties and a cover. On the H340 we stow twice the square footage of sail in about half the time. Heading out is even easier. Just unzip the cover and you're ready to sail. Overall, very happy with it.

I JUST HAD UK INSTALL THEIR SYSTEM ON MY 37 HUNTER. HOW COULD I HAVE SAILED WITHOUT IT! THE SYSTEM WORKS GEAT. TOOK THE WORK OUT OF SAILING. I LOOKED AT NUMEROUS SYSTEMS AND UK APPEARED TO BE THE BEST.

I've used the Chicago UK loft for several years now. They've always done good work, promptly, and at a reasonable price.

Have you considered the "Mack Pack?"

You might take a look at the "Mack Pack." It works along the same lines as the UK Stack Pack and I think is less expensive. It is made by Mack Sails in Florida. They have a web site. Do a search on Mack Sails and you will find it. I am considering purchasing one soon. Getting REAL sick of wrestling with the main. Wynn Ferrel S/V Tranquility
