Stack Pak - what happened to it?

When I bought my 2002 326 it was offered with either in mast furling or a "stack pac" (or a similar looking sail cover that staed on the boom)Got the in mast so never thought about it again. Just bougt a 2003 hunter and noticed that they were no longer offering the stack pac as the standard sail cover - what happened? Got in-mast again so not an issue, just wondering. Too expensive, no one liked it or what? Again just wondering has no effect on me directly - just like to know for the future. Thanks

My 356 came with what amounts to a stack-pack. It works really well. I've never given a second thought to going without the roller-furling main, and I certainly appreciate the full main's flexibility and power.

better stack packs out there...

...or is it because the one that came with my 2002 326 is made by a different supplier. My dealership claimed that Hunter in England was out of stock, and had one built for me. The lazy bag saggs when the main is out... not too pretty. I like the ones on the Beneteau's and Jeanneau's... they seem to have the lazy jacks tied to a thin support bar that runs along the top of the lazy-bag. This keeps the bag up and tight, even when the main is out. I'm going to modify mine, and until then, the lazy-bag is removed during our month long sailing adventures. (We still have the mainsail cover that came with the boat.) Bon vent... Jef & *Pixie* (the pic is me trying to adjust the bag around the mast.)
