We are considering putting a stack pack or mack pack on our 1998 Hunter 340. We would like some feedback from others on how well this works. We have a long boom and large sail area. The traveler is atop the fiberglass arch. We have a bimini and putting on the sail cover is very difficult. We have to reach the traveler, move the boom to one side to attach to the back of the sail.

I have a 340 with a stack pack and I love it. Your right the only issue is reaching the end of the boom but I have a good set up. I tie the end of the stack pack to the topping lift in order to keep the zipper taunt when I go to close it. I have a small string tied to the zipper of the stack pack and let the boom over to the port or starboard and pull the string to close. If the end of the stack pack was not tied to the topping lift the zipper would not work. I also use the small string to wind around the mast to keep evrything tight once its closed. Under sail I fold the excess that would be around the mast in to the stack pack and it is nice and neat. Take a bit to adjust the lazy jacks in the spring to hold up the stack pack up but worth it in my opinion.

We put a Stack Pack and Tides Track on our 376 this year. Boy, what a difference it made. No more obscured view forward for the First Mate after dousing the main, no more sail ties around the neck and struggling with the main while still underway. Simply drop it, motor in and spend a few minutes "tidying up" and zippering after tying up. We added a couple of mast steps to reach the highest point of the furled sail on the mast since I'm "vertically challenged" and you have to release the traveller to help keep the sail within the lines when raising the main, but no more difficult than a typical Lazy Jack. All in all a great improvement that will extend our "retired sailing years".

I installed a Mack Pack on my Hunter 32 Vision Love it One point to consider I ordered extra line fot the Lazy Jacks so I wa able to run them back to the end of the boon and then back to the lazy Jacks at the top intersection All with Blocks

This allows me to raise or lower them from the cockpit When going to wind I simply lower them and the full battens do not get hung up Sails up raise the lazy jack Simple but very effective
