My wife and I are thinking about a pair of stabilizing binoculars for the boat. We have a regular pair now but they are not easy to use with the motion of the boat. Has anyone tried a pair of the stabilizing binoculars and if so how do you like them? What brand and model have you used? I have never looked through a set, so I am counting on the forum to help me with this. Thanks

They might help with vibration & hand shake but I'd be very surprised if they did anything much for wave motion and roll unless they've got a pretty big flywheel spinning.

My experience with stabilizing binoculars on a sailboat is that they are useless. The motion of the boat is too smooth for the stabilizing mechanism to correct. You are better off with lower power and a large primary lens to have as large a field of view as possible.

Thanks for the replys. It sound like they are not going to do what we hoped they would. We will put that purchase on hold. Thanks again
