I am putting new standing rigging on my Catalina 27.
I was wondering is there a difference in overall length of from using swage fittings and then going to Sta-Loc terminals? Do I need to order shorter or longer wire?

Order a little extra so you can cut it down to the size you need. If you don't get enough you will be in a jam and you won't be able to return it.

I agree with hvbaker and suggest you order a foot or two more in length, it won't cost you more. I just replaced the rigging on my Catalina 30 using Catalina Direct. You must keep your old fore stay or shroud for measurement as you lay the old and new wire next to each other for exact measurement. Their rigging advisor is very helpful in explaining the process. Their new fitting is easier to fit than a stay lock. I'm not selling or being paid for anything, just a happy customer. Contact me if you wish. Good luck.

I am having my mast rerigged. Worked with the expert who bought the wire a little long. Laid the new and old wire down side by side. Measured the new wire, the upper swage fitting and the lower HiMod swageless fitting, the turnbuckles and toggles against the old gear. Assuring that the overall lengths were matched and that the turnbuckle had 1. enough threads on to assure a solid connection, 2. enough length to permit required adjustment.

I attribute this understanding to the previous experience of the expert. Not sure I would have known all of these issues. Pay - watch - learn was my plan.

Best of luck.
