I have a 2012 B40 with RayMarine E90 chart plotter and ST70 autopilot. When my autopilot is on it shows that it is reading magnetic heading, however when i turn on the E90, the autopilot switches to True heading, which is not good because of the variation. I contacted Raymarine and they want to know which model autopilot course computer is installed. I have no idea where to look or where this computer can be. No reference to it in any of the materials provided to me when i got the boat. Anyone out there having a similar problem, or can tell me where to find the autopilot course computer?

It is a grey box about 7x9x1.5 inches - the flux compass, rudder position and drive motor all connect in as well as a white SeaTalkng node connector. From what I've seen on the web it says X10 - Smartpilot on the cover (http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/pdfs/raymarine/81287_1web.pdf page 10. You should be able to tell what version of software/firmware it is running from a status page on your E90 (this is where you also update the software). All the Raymarine manuals on on their web site - for download if you don't have them.

best of luck.

Maybe not the same as yours, but my C80 can be set for T or M. There is also an option in the plotter to set the autopilot reading to make use of the GPS reading in the chartplotter. Is your E90 set for T, and when you switch it on makes the auto change? My computer is in the pod at the helm.
