Just got over to the boat and darn if the windvane isn't gone. The wind speed indicator is still up there spinning, but the direction vane that is supposed to be there isn't. The set screw that holds it there must have gotten loose and finally come out. Now the challenges to find just that part, who hideout. Raymarine sells itself. Will hunt around.
i also at the end of the season had some ST-60 wind issues. No speed. there is somewhere on the Raymarine site info to troubleshoot and I was getting strange readings. Made no sense.
I sent the head unit in and they gave me a new one re-built for a bunch of money.
I put it in and still no speed, just direction. So....I bought another new transducer. I am on the hard and may try hooking the new transducer to the back. I only bought the screw on head, no base. I hope its not wiring thru the mast.
NOTE:
I will be happy to ship you my old transducer for the parts which seem all in one shape. and all of the spinning cups are there. I also have the very nice box the new one came in, which would be easy to pack. Totally up to you. bad part is the yard will not get to changing it for a couple weeks or so. They have a cherry picker to go up.
Ironically I had an extra base unit, with the spool of cable, in my workshop for three years. cleaning up this a year ago I tossed it out as I thought I would never use it and who would buy it. that was stupid but I end up collecting soooo much crap. Will feel more stupid if I end up buying a new base!
