ST4000 vs ST4000+ Autohelm

The LCD went bad in my ST4000 display head and I found http://www.ebay.com/itm/182410813103?ul_noapp=true ST4000+
My question is will the display heads swap out? Would be a cheap fix if it would work.

Yeah, most of that Raymarine stuff from before they needed "course computers" and the electronics are all in the head unit, are interchangeable.

Even if its a switch between Raymarine and Autohelm brand?

Yes, The only problem might be Seatalk connections, most Autohelm used "old Seatalk" round plug, Raymarine probably uses rectangular "new Seatalk" plug. There used to be an adapter available but round plug hasn't been used since the early 90's.

Or you could cut off the plug and fit mini crimp connectors to the wire. It will fit the mini spade pin on the st4000+ head. That's what I did when I did wiring work on the raymarine instruments.
