Yes, Yes, Yes!
The ST40 instruments use SeaTalk. You can connect them to the back of the plug for the the tiller pilot to steer a wind angle. The ST40 instruments only have one SeaTalk plug on the back of them and you will need an ST40 Interconnect Kit (Part#E25028) in order to connect two of them together. Two kits for two instruments and the autopilot and a SeaTalk cable to run to the back of the ST2000 Tiller Pilot Socket. Please be aware that the ST40 Wind instrument uses a Rotavecta type transducer. This masthead transducer does not have a vane and generates its wind direction by a differential in the rotation of its speed cups. You will need a 3-4 knot minimum breeze to generate reliable wind direction information. I would recommend the ST60 Wind instrument for your sailing application if you can fit it into your budget. In response to your questions, it would connect to the socket the same way as the Z159 after the Z159 interface box has converted the wind into SeaTalk. We discontinued the Z159 last year based on sales volumes.
