Hey Sean
I can't offer much in the way of details for installation on the H240 but I learned a few things while installing an ST1000 on my H23:a) power consumption depends on the load on the tillerpilot. Trim the boat and sails properly before engaging the tillerpilot. I shit weight to limit heel as much as possible and trim the sails until I can move the tiller with just thumb and forefinger. If the t-pilot has to fight a lot of weather helm it will draw a LOT more power. I kept blowing 20A fuses until I figured this out.b) A single battery should be OK, but be prepared to charge it ASAP after you return to the dock to avoid sulfating the cells. Solar charging is not fast enough.c) the location of the t-pilot mount is fixed relative to the rudder pivot axis, so you may need some extra pieces to make it work. I had to buy two ram extensions (3-inch and 1-inch) and I didn't know this until I started the installation. It took two weeks for the parts to arrive.d) You may need a special pin for the tiller. Again, you won't know until you try to install the t-pilot.d) The hand-held remote is worth it if you single-hand a lot and have to go forward to reef, douse the headsail or pick your way through a shoal or into an anchorage. It's also handy for sailing in wet weather as it frees you from having to stay in the cockpit.I'm sure someone with an H240 can tell you exactly what extra parts you'll need so you can get them ahead of time and have everything in hand when you're ready to start. Good luck!PeterH23 "Raven"
